The address on its website is 56 East Street, Havant, Hampshire, PO9 1BS, and the Box Office number is 023 9247 2700.
The Spring is a registered charity. The programme covers performances, workshops, exhibitions and community heritage activity, and the What's On page is where current listings sit.
When is The Spring open?
As published on The Spring's visit page in October 2026, the usual daytime opening hours are 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, and the building is closed on Sundays. For evening performances the building will usually be open one hour before the start time, and for other evening activity the page asks you to check in advance.
The same page lists bank holiday opening for 2026, and for each of them it shows the building as closed: New Year's Day, Easter Monday, the Early May and Spring bank holidays, the Summer Bank Holiday, Christmas Day and the substitute Boxing Day on 28 December. Good Friday on 3 April is shown as closed apart from an evening performance. Hours can change, so check the visit page before you travel.
What is in the Havant Museum?
The museum is housed within the venue. The Spring's heritage collection page says the displays include a 1950s re-created kitchen filled with the voices of the Kenwood community, and the past glory of the Hayling Billy train line with displays, films and an interactive model. There are also facts about famous local brands, including Scalextric, Tampax and Kenwood, and hand-painted Royal Doulton wall tile panels that once adorned the walls of the Havant War Memorial Hospital children's ward.
Families can pick up a Family Museum Activity Trail. The page says activity books are available from the Box Office and are £2 each. It also says The Spring is an Arts Council England accredited museum, and that its main collection is on display thanks to a partnership with the Hampshire Cultural Trust.
The heritage section has more beyond the museum. The research room offers maps, census returns, church records and local directories, online access to Ancestry and Find My Past, and free appointments with volunteer genealogists and researchers, which you arrange by emailing info@thespring.co.uk. If you want a first taste of Havant's past, our Havant history guide covers the main chapters.
Is there a cafe at The Spring?
Yes. The Cafe and Bar page says the cafe is open 10am to 3pm Monday to Saturday, with hot food served until 2.30pm. It describes homemade cakes and light lunches, children's lunchboxes, locally made ice cream and milkshakes, and a specials board on arrival with items such as quiche, soup of the day and salads. The evening bar opens an hour before a show and during intervals, with bottled soft and alcoholic drinks and snacks.
Next to the cafe is a children's play area. The page says it is free to use during the usual opening hours, with a mini library, toy tools and a make-believe cafe.
How do I book tickets at the Box Office?
The booking information page says you can book online, in person at the Box Office, or by phone. The Box Office is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and one hour before evening performances. Tickets can be printed or sent to a device.
The page lists discounts on many events for under 18s, students, over 65s and people receiving certain benefits, which must be requested at the time of booking. Groups of more than 10 get every eleventh ticket free. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, with a full refund if an event is cancelled, so read the page for the exact terms before you book.
How do I get to The Spring?
The how to get to us page says Havant station is a 10-minute walk away, with direct links to London Waterloo, Portsmouth, Southampton and Chichester. It says the number 700, 27, 28 and 28a buses all stop directly outside. By car, it is a 5-minute drive off the A27, leaving at the B21549 Park Road South junction or the A259 Emsworth exit. Our Havant train station guide and Havant buses guide have more on the journey.
For parking, The Spring is next to the Havant Borough Council pay and display Town End House car park. Spaces are limited, and the page says the Livelink car park is not available to Spring visitors. An adapted toilet with baby changing is available, the theatre has an induction loop, and tickets are free for essential companions.
