Things to do with kids in Havant
Havant has a leisure centre with soft play and an indoor inflatable course, an arts centre with family shows, council-run play parks and a country park with a working farm on the edge of the town. Everything here is as published on the venue's own site or a council page on 5 October 2026. Opening times, timetables and prices change, so check before you set off.
Soft play, toddler groups and the inflatable at Horizon Havant
Havant Leisure Centre is run by the charity Horizon Leisure, which the council's Horizon page lists as operating the Havant and Waterlooville leisure centres. Horizon says its Havant soft play has four levels with tunnels, slides, climbing challenges and ball pits, plus a dedicated toddler zone, seating and free Wi-Fi. Socks are required for children and adults. Horizon links a session timetable and a notice of October closures from its soft play page, so check those before you travel.
Horizon also runs an indoor inflatable assault course called AirXtreme at Havant, with separate sessions by age, including under 5s and under 8s. Children at the under 5s and under 8s sessions must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, and a signed waiver is needed before entering. Its timetable and closures are on that page.
For younger children, Horizon's toddler groups page lists Adventure Play (recommended age 0 to 4), Pre-School Bounce (recommended age 2 to 4) and a pre-school gymnastics class (recommended age 2 to 4). Horizon says to book through its app and that sessions run all year round except bank holidays and Christmas. Its Havant centre page says the pool is used for lessons, clubs and casual swimming, and describes Swim School lessons following the Swim England framework.
Holiday clubs and activities for older children
Horizon's school holiday clubs are run with Active8Minds for children from Year R to Year 7, on selected dates in each holiday. Horizon lists sports, soft play access at Havant, laser tag, treasure hunts, arts and crafts and Lego, and says staff are DBS checked. Booking is through Active8Minds. Horizon also runs junior gym sessions for 11 to 15 year olds.
For teenagers, the THRIVE Youth Hub at Horizon Havant is described as a free weekly space for young people aged 12 to 17, every Tuesday 5pm to 7pm and Thursday 5:30pm to 7pm, with no membership required.
The Spring: family shows and workshops
The Spring describes itself as a cross-artform and heritage organisation in Havant. Its What's On page has a Family category. On 5 October 2026 it listed Wonder Gigs on Wednesday 7 October, a live music and play session for 0 to 5 year olds and their grown-ups, and later family shows including Olaf Falafel's Stupidiest Super Stupid Show on Saturday 7 November, Mr Sleepybum's Dream Machine on Saturday 5 December (the listing gives ages 3 to 8) and Comedy Club 4 Kids: Christmas Cracker on Saturday 12 December (aged 6 and over). Its Take Part page says families can join workshops and hands-on exhibitions, and its How to reach The Spring page says it is a 10-minute walk from Havant station. Our Spring guide has more.
Parks and play areas in Havant
Havant Borough Council owns and manages the borough's play areas. Its play parks page says play equipment is checked weekly by qualified inspectors, and it asks you to report damage or incidents to the council on 023 9244 6019. The council's parks and open spaces brochure lists many sites by postcode, including Havant Park (PO9 1QF). For Leigh Park it describes St Clares Avenue (PO9 4JF), with a children's playground, a multi-use games area, a BMX dirt jump course and a nine-station outdoor gym. It describes Bidbury Mead (PO9 3JG), with a children's playground, zip wire, tennis courts and a basketball court, and Front Lawn Recreation Ground (PO9 5HR), with a children's playground and floodlit courts and pitch, where the brochure says booking fees may apply.
The Front Lawn Community Hub is run by Hampshire FA for the council and is described as open seven days a week, with a floodlit artificial football pitch, a floodlit multi-use sports area and a publicly accessible café. See our parks, playgrounds and walks guide for more.
Staunton Country Park and farm
Staunton Country Park is in Havant borough, and our Staunton guide covers it in full. As published by Hampshire County Council in September 2026, the park covers around 1,000 acres with free entry to the parkland, a working farm, the Storey Gardens walled garden with a sensory garden, glasshouses and a maze, a café and tea room, and accessible toilets with baby changing. Dogs are allowed on leads in the parkland but not in the farm area. Check the council's plan your visit page for current opening times and any charges for the farm.
Library activities
Hampshire's libraries list their regular sessions on each library's page. For example, Hayling Island Library's page lists baby play time, rhymetime and craft and music clubs. Havant Library's current sessions are listed on Hampshire County Council's library finder, and our library guide has the library details.
