The same database returns the Havant constituency when searching with PO9 postcodes in the town centre, Bedhampton and Leigh Park.

Havant Borough Council has 36 councillors across 12 wards, as published on its elections page. The council elects one third of its councillors every three years, with no election in the fourth year, which it calls a fallow year, so one councillor from each ward retires in each election year. The last borough elections were held on Thursday 7 May 2026.

The wards that voted in May 2026, according to the council's election results page, were Bedhampton, Cowplain, Emsworth, Hart Plain, Havant St Faith's, Hayling East, Hayling West, Leigh Park Central and West Leigh, Leigh Park Hermitage, Purbrook, Stakes and Waterloo. Havant St Faith's, Bedhampton and the two Leigh Park wards are the ones whose names match the areas HavantHub covers. The council's pages do not list which streets fall in which ward, so use its where I live service, which can show councillors and MPs for your address, and our Leigh Park guide for the estate.

How do I register to vote in Havant?

Register online at GOV.UK. The council says it takes less than 5 minutes and you need your date of birth and national insurance number. GOV.UK says you normally only need to register once, but you must register again if you change your name, address or nationality. In England you can register from the age of 16, and the council says that to vote in a UK Parliamentary or local election you must be 18 or over on the day. Registering is free.

If you move house you need to register at the new address, which the council says is not done automatically when you tell it about council tax. If you need help, call the elections team on 02392 446225 or email elections.office@havant.gov.uk. The register is updated on the first working day of each month. If you are unsure whether you are registered, the council's register to vote page has a way to ask it to check.

How do I vote and what ID do I need?

You can vote at a polling station, by post, or by appointing a proxy. Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm on polling day, and your poll card tells you where to go. The council says an expired photo ID still works if the photo is a good likeness, and you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate on GOV.UK if you have no suitable ID.
